There and Back again

We just got back from our two week trip in Maine, and it was absolutely wonderful. NOt only did we get to see many fun things, but we spent a lot of time with Grandma and Grandpa Call, Uncle Rich, Aunt Michelle, and the Adolpshons (Cat Dave, Spencer and Evalyn). The kids latched right on to their cousins and had a great time. IT was a trip full of memories, and now we get to recover. Here are a few of my favorite pics from the trip, and it was hard to narrow it down because I took about a million. I will add more from time to time.

Above is our family in Camden, a cute little town right on the coast. It is perhaps one of my favorite spots in the whole world. Brian and I spent a few dsys here after we got married, and it was fun to take the kids. The kids loved the little shop, The Smiling Cow and even got to spend a dollar that Grandpa gave them. Below we are on the top of Mount Battie, still in Camden. usually you can see the picturesque harbor in the background from the top of the little tower, but it was too foggy when we were there. The kids loved the castle tower though.

We went to Range Pond. It was a perfect place for us all. The kids could play in the sand and swim in te shallow water, and us big peopl could kayak out on the lake. Brian took each of the kids out for a ride, and Liz and Nathan even got a turn with Uncle Rich. Everyone had fun, but I relaly liked these pictures of Megan and Liz.

Nathan climbing on the rocks and Portland Headlight.

Michael didn't go on the whale watch. He stayed with Grandma, Cat, Meg and the cousins. They went to a train museum in Boothbay. They got to climb on some trains, ride a train (Two times!) and there was a show with a bunch of older men and their fancy dancy train sets. When Michael saw that his body literally shook with excitement, and they pulle dup a chair for him so he could see better.. Needless to say he didn't feel like he missed anything. HE probably thinks that we missed out.

We took our usual trip to LL Bean in Freeport. The kids loved the giant commemorative boot, and we all enjoyed the fish tank that you could stick your head into. I actually went to LLBean three times this trip, but it never gets old.

The climax of our trip was the Saturday in Boothbay. Michael of course enjoyed the trains, and the Whale watch was such a treat. We saw some Humpback and finback whales right up close and it was just fun being out on the ocean. the water was beautiful, the harbor was charming, and it was so fun to watch Liz and Nathan. They were thrilled. (Thanks again Grandpa!)
